Tech Tips and Tricks & Advice – written in plain English.

And You Say It’s Not War…

I have a sort of a ‘joke’ I have been saying basically since 2007. It goes, “if you knew what I knew about the Internet, you wouldn’t use it.”

(But we all know how it’s really a golden egg-laying goose {thanks to advertising revenue and Personal Info Gathering}.)

The Shoe Drops: Iran DDOS Attacks Hit Clouds

Iran has reportedly launched a series of attacks on US banks, raising dire implications not just for geopolitics, but also for cloud security.Read more..

“cloud security”. Oxymoron, or simple contradiction?

And no, “cyberwarfare” is not new. It’s been going on for a while.

  1. The Goose That Laid The Golden Egg…

Television is the Golden Goose that lays Scrambled Eggs; it is Futile and probably Fatal
    for not laying Caviar.

However, more people like Scrambled Eggs than Caviar

    …give Me Caviar… :)

    • Gaia,

  2. “Resistance is Futile”… All we can do is keep a low profile and protect our identity to the best of our ability. Anyone who doesn’t have virus protection, a good firewall and router, along with an active spyware application, are asking to become victims. The bad guys are indeed out to get us, and they will if we don’t practice good common sense. Think before you click. Resist the urge to open email from unknown parties. It’s the wild, wild west out there….

    • kstinman,
I cannot remember when (or where) I first saw the Internet referred to as the “wild, wild, West”, but I assure you that that is the term many (most?) of “those in the know” use. (I prefer to say, ‘it ain’t Disneyland’ [a clean, safe, well-lighted place where everyone’s on their best behavior because children are present].)

So, yes, you just put into a nutshell my “theme”.
