Facebook (& others) Sued for Privacy Invasion

“Facebook, the world’s largest social networking site, is facing a class action lawsuit charging that its controversial advertising program violated online privacy and computer fraud laws.
A group of plaintiffs filed the suit in U.S. District Court in San Jose against Facebook and several other companies, including Blockbuster, Fandango, Overstock.com and Hotwire.com that participated in the unpopular advertising service, which shared information about users’ activities with the social network….”

I got facebook and i dont quite get their meaning of uncatholic advertising, it never bothered me, i saw the ads, but …. i know you have to agree when installing an application to your facebook , you have to agree that they’ll be using your private data, but it’s not like their putting my face on a naked body. If they use that information for marketing statistics or anything….so what…i don’t quite care.

I’d like to ask you (and any member of Generations Y & Z), does any of the surveillance and erosion of privacy bother you? GPS tracking of your phones, cars, and eventually, embedded microchips? How about “security” cameras everywhere? How about the fact that every word you typed into an e-mail, chat client, or ‘texted’ is stored on some server somewhere (forever)? How about the fact that your cellular and wireless phone conversation can be easilly monitored? By me, if I so choose.
So what.. right?
