When You Are A World Famous Blogger..
(And I Only Win A Half-million Euros Today.. )
When you are a World Famous Blogger (like me), you get e-mails containing money from the United Nations*…
And I must say, I’m a little miffed at Western Union.. deleting !!! my (non-existent) account.. on a Sunday.
I mean, they just sent me the the update notice !!! late Friday… I thought I had until Monday.. at least.
And when you are a World Famous Blogger (like me), you find that people will auction their items using your e-mail address. I just wish the person(s) using mine would stop causing so many disputes, and accepting bogus cc#s…
… I love a good irony, don’t you? The cybercrooks are counting on our stupidity to work these phishing scams, and it’s pretty clear to me that they are the stupid ones.
United Nations??? Uh.. yeah. Okay. It might happen.. (insert rest of Mike Myers’ line here.)
Today’s free link: Today, something maybe I should’a read a long time ago.. How to Dissuade Yourself from Becoming a Blogger

Almost forgot.. my latest win..

Lots of scams out there but is any one a world famous bloggers. In the real world does it matter.
Many years ago I worked in the IBM market place and then moved into the Unix arena. Almost like a different language, no planet. Everyone seems to exist in their own little worlds, what is important for one is meaning less to many others

John,
I don’t really think of myself as a “world famous tech journalist”, and I don’t think my reader’s do either. I am merely trying to show folks some of the cybercrime that can land in their Inbox.. in an amusing and interesting manner. Sadly, people still fall for this garbage.
I agree that our society is becoming more and more insular and unfriendly, and more people live as “shut ins”. But I think it has always been true that what interest one will not necessarily interest others. And, with over population, we’ve had to become specialists and more narrowly focus our talents and interests.. like.. oh, say, being a SQL specialist (vs Oracle), or a Assembly programmer (vs a “webmaster”).
