Monday Fun On A Tuesday
Give That Picture A Title Contest
The three-day summer 4th of July holiday is over and (for many of us) it’s back to work. Back to the old grindstone. It’s Monday on a Tuesday. Yuk.
(For those of you who would like to be at work, but aren’t: A Top Site for Finding Work. “Job-Hunt is dedicated to the millions of people who have had their personal lives disrupted by the loss of a job.“)
So today I am doing something a bit different, something a bit more fun, to help me get over the back-to-work blues. I came across an old photograph I took back in the days when I was a shutterbug. Seeing it again struck a chord in me.. Seems to me that I was that age.. once..
I think this photo needs a title — a one word title.
So, if this pic strikes a chord in you too, and you think you have the perfect title to go with it, please enter my Give That Picture A Title Contest by leaving a Comment (below). There will be no “prize” so to speak.. just fun.
Video On Phones – A Usage Survey
Folks, more fun! I want to ask a favor from those readers who own a smart phone. Please answer this one-question survey, if you haven’t already. Thank you.
And now for the tech:
Apple Clarifies iPhone 4 Signal Strength Woes, But I’m Still Confused
“Apple is telling iPhone 4 users that there is no reception problem, just a software problem. Why, then, are so many people experiencing problems?”
Google acts to fix YouTube flaw exploited by hackers
“YouTube has been forced to fix a flaw allowing hackers to bombard users with fake pop-up messages and redirect them to adult sites.”
We All Had To Update Firefox Because Of Farmville Users
“So the world’s second most popular internet browser is updated just to fix a single game. If for some reason you hadn’t realised just how big this game is until now, this should do it.”
Supply Chain for iPhone Highlights Costs in China
“The least expensive part of the process is manufacturing and assembly. And that often takes place here in southern China, where workers are paid less than a dollar an hour to solder, assemble and package products for the world’s best-known brands.”
(That’s right folks, you’re competing with a huge labor force willing to work for less than a buck an hour.. and they don’t sue their employer.)
Ahhhh… back to work.

No that’s not correct. Working conditions in China are improving by margins every year…

Adrian,
Thank you for the correction. The reason I included that was – actually – a dig at “sue happy” Americans..

I did see the original Toy Story, yes. And if I remember correctly, I actually enjoyed it. (It may be that I saw Toy Story 2, as well.) But then, I liked every movie Tom Hanks has been a part of.
