Hotmail down

It would appear that Hotmail is down .. at least for me. Anyone else?

Ooops. Spoke too soon. It’s back down again…

Restored 7 pm

… One more example of why “cloud computing” is NOT (IMHO) a marvelous idea. (But not the only reason. There are those pesky issues of security, data custody, regulation…)

    • Sir or Ms,
This article was written 1 year ago, to the day oddly enough, and happened far away from Peru.

I hope your service is restored quickly though.

    • Sir or Ms,
While I am glad for you that you have not experienced any outages with Google, I assure you that they have had them, and will have them in the future. No Internet based service is immune from (hopefully temporary) outages.. it is the nature of the beast.

“Cloud computing”, as such services have come to called, are a great convenience.. as long as everything is working. Most services have technicians, ready to jump in and restore service as quickly as possible, so hopefully the outages are not “critical”. I assure you Microsoft has a few technicians available..
