Congratulations Green Bay

I only have time today to send my congratulations to Green Bay, who hung on to win what was for me one of the most enjoyable Super Bowl Sundays in recent memory.

What a game.. coming down to the final minute.. And the Halftime Show was pretty darned good too.

(And to think.. the Niners could have had Rodgers in the draft…)

    • MikeyK,
It is quite proper and fitting to congratulate the winners of a contest, and I join you in doing so. (It is no less exciting that they won in spite of important injuries.)

But also, I said before the game, “both teams deserve to be there”. And so I will take this opportunity to also congratulate the Steelers; they played well and they played hard (and outplayed GB almost the entire second half). It was a memorable struggle, and came down to the wire. There is no shame in the Steelers loss.. IMHO.

  2. Excellent game! I was getting a little nervous at the end of the first quarter with a score of 14-zip, but the rest of the game was a pleasure to watch. Truly a lot of fun spent with good company and great food.

I live in an AFC team town and I wanted to see the Steelers take this one. Always have liked them. But, a Vince Lombardi trophy belongs in Green Bay, this year for sure! Besides, the Steelers have the distinction of owning the most V.L. trophies of any NFL team…

    • Balmy33,
My Niners were tied there for a minute… But, yes, that does “soften the blow” for a champion team somewhat, I would guess. And, yes, a trophy for GB after all these years seems to me.. okay too.

And, “a pleasure to watch. Truly a lot of fun spent with good company and great food” sounds like a fine way to spend a few hours to me!

  3. Anytime you can win the SB with something like 15 guys on IR, including your #1 RB, a supremely talented TE and your defensive play caller – that’s nothing to discount.
They are also pretty young but also have some savvy veterans like Driver and Woodson. Driver my retire but I have a really hard time seeing the Pack fall to much next year.
Oh and #12 is a pretty good QB to have for both teams.

    • Chris Taus,
There is already much speculation in the press of a repeat next year…
