Firefox problem a result of malware?

If you are using Firefox to surf the web, and you see some odd behavior that has you thinking you may have been infected with a computer virus, the following information – provided by Mozilla (the authors of Firefox) – may help you. The links contain diagnosing and troubleshooting How To’s.

Is my Firefox problem a result of malware?

Malware is short for “Malicious Software”. It is a term generally used for software installed on your computer that is designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner’s informed consent. Computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, most rootkits, spyware, dishonest adware are different types of malware. Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

Quick Update + Some Pics

Folks,
bestdayFor the moment… just a ‘quick update’ for you. I will try to post a tech How To article later today, after I get caught up with my Aplus Computer Aid responsibilities.
[update: Today’s How To is now available, here: Firefox problem a result of malware?]

Late yesterday, I returned from a fishing trip to the high Sierras in California’s Stanislaus National Park area. My vacation outing was a fine success in every way .. but one: I caught a 12″ rainbow in the first 15 minutes on the lake, then nothing. Not another bite. People were catching fish, but the ‘action’ was slow – fishing season was just starting, and we were up pretty high.. 5,600 feet, or so. There was still some snow on the ground.
(But I did learn something: that old bumbersticker is right.)

I did snap a couple of pics before leaving. Unfortunately, on our last day, cold and clouds had moved in, so the photos are not sunny…

All in all, a very special weekend. In hindsight, I can’t believe I had let almost two decades pass since I’ve done something like this..

Unfortunately, it’s Monday, and time to get back to work.
