  1. “There is no greater love than this: that a person would lay down his life for the sake of his friends.”
    -Aramaic Bible

Eternal rest, grant unto them (him/her)
and let perpetual light shine upon them (him/her).
May the souls of the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
    Amen.
    -Roman Catholic

    • Great Line!

Only one thing left to say

“Move over Rover, and let Jimi (RIP) take over.”

  3. Folks,
Today’s holiday originated as “Armistice Day”, in observance of the ending of mankind’s first “world war”; but has evolved into simple recognition – and a reminder to say “thanks” to – all those who have taken, or are currently taking, time out of their lives to serve their country in uniform – whether they do/did so in times of peace or in times of conflict. Many nations observe this day.

I hope everyone has a terrific (and safe) holiday weekend!

  4. In Flanders Fields – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Why we wear poppies……

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.

Thank you for your sacrifice and honor. I salute Veterans everywhere!
