Folks, crazy busy here (again) and I am just (for now, hope to write more later) letting you know that an alert reader has let us know about several software giveaways – available for a very limited time. These include a backup “timeline” program (similar to Apple’s “Time Machine”) and a cool Task Manager replacement (for you ‘power users’ out there) and more.

  1. Man, if I could stop Facebook in it’s tracks I would. It’s turned my wife into an online zombie, on Facebook every waking moment. Spending cash we don’t have. Chatting with guild members when she’s not spending $$$. It’s designed to make you need to be there 24-7 or you lose points, status, or whatever. I don’t know exactly what’s going on as I’ve never had a Facebook account.

I’m disabled and need my wifes help in many instances, but I’ve lost her to this stupid “social” game site. Sometimes I don’t even eat unless I decide to get mad and demand she stop long enough to fix my one and only meal a day. Due to privacy issues I don’t care to join up, but I see there is a trap that they have cleverly designed to ruin peoples lives, all in the name of the almighty dollar. There should be a law against it, but it’s an addiction (disease) and that can’t be legally controlled. Weird that she never had any addiction issues before Facebook came along.

    • yoinjoco,
First let me say that I do thank you for sharing this with us.. but then let me confess that I have no real clue as to how to answer you.

      No clue.

I am reasonably confident that many – more knowledgeable than I in such matters – might advise seeking counseling, if that is a possible thing for you.

And I am reasonably sure that Facebook isn’t going away any time soon.

I guess.. all I can say is.. well, that you have my sympathy on this one, and that I hope your wife will come back and join us here in the real world..
