Nothing Nice To Say

Sorry for being missing in action, there, folks. Not only have I been busy, but I decided to follow the axiom of “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”.

i Dad and i Son with new i Phones
(They camped out overnight and stood in line to be one of the first to own those i Gadgets.)

However, if you care about the new Samsung Galaxy 3S (excuse me, “S III”) 10 things you should know before buying a Galaxy S III smartphone

If you’re thinking about buying a Galaxy S III, be forewarned. This phone offers some incredibly cool features — but you’ll want to factor in a few gotchas.Read more..

And/Or, if you care about the new iPhone 5 Why the iPhone 5 launch will be the “biggest upgrade in consumer electronics history”

The iPhone 5 launch isn’t just going to be big according to Topeka Capital analyst Brian White, it’s going to be the “biggest upgrade in consumer electronics history”. It will be, and here’s why.” Read more..

And/Or if you haven’t yet followed the crowd and bought an iPad.. How to decide: should you buy a big Kindle Fire HD or an iPad?

This is totally NOT the simple choice you might think it would be. There are a lot of reasons why you might choose either device. If you really want to make an informed decision, read this guide.” Read more..

There are plenty more developments in the “tech news”, but frankly, I don’t care.

Not anymore.

I am tired of HYPE and the FUD. (and Sell! Sell! Sell!)

And the security news just gets worse.

Examples:

Biggest upgrade in history?

Now there’s a title that’ll get some “eyeballs” .. (and you want lotsa eyeballs. So you can charge more for your ad space.)

Bonus:

I guess they assume I fly.. but I don’t.

  1. What? You don’t want to keep up with the Jone’s..or Smith’s.. J/K Who can afford it?

I have a HTC Legend…which 2 yrs ago was pretty much top of the line..They say it won’t run ICS now.. I have seen where you can get it to run but you have to root it. Which I am probably gonna do later this yr. He has the Galaxy S II but it better last for the next 3 yrs(or close to it)..he has a contract.

New and improved..just to get your money…same with the PC’s..

It never was my behavior to rush out and get the first one (and I won’t say what I think of those who do) or buy the latest-greatest. I wait for the price to come down (what will iPhone 4’s sell for once the 5 is out, for example)(Further example: I remember when 16GB thumb drives were over $100, now they’re $10) and I refuse to be anyone’s guinea pig (oops, I meant “pay for the privilege to be a beta tester) and never buy/use v1.0 of any thing anymore.
There’s a reason to “Wait For The Service Pack“.

I don’t pay for a label (or logo) either.

But. Hey. Plenty of people (most?) do. And.. I admit.. those two guys look happy…

  2. Maybe this will make you smile…

I got this sent to me thru Sci-Fi Haven. It was made over 11 years ago. I remember seeing it at the time. Just checked The Space Channel Space – Watch Sci Fi Shows Online – Canada’s Science Fiction Network…They still show 2 Trek shows. :) according to their schedule.

    No More Star Trek

  3. Forgot to post this. Been in a fog lately. Been to the hospital 4 times because of my headaches in the last 2 months. Plus I am trying to set up Win7 64 and beta test a game…which I am doing terrible at because I can’t concentrate.

    Anyways,,,Free is good at times..

BatchMarker lets you add visual logos or text watermarks to all of your photos, protecting them from theft and unauthorized use. With BatchMarker, you can add copyright, trademark, watermark, or any other identifying images to all of your photos in just a few clicks. Best of all, you have full control over the type, size, and transparency of your marks, so you can be as subtle or as IN YOUR FACE with your brand as you want. BatchMarker even offers smart resizing, so after setting the size and position of your watermark on one image, it will appear properly sized across all images, no matter how large or small your other images are. If you opt to add a logo, you’ll be happy to know that all shadows and translucent bits are preserved across all images. As a bonus, you can import and save images in a variety of popular file formats.

If you’re in a position to frequently apply watermarks to your images, BatchMarker makes life a lot easier thanks to the ability to save watermarks as templates. And if a text or graphical watermark isn’t enough for you (because you’re afraid they’ll get cropped out), you can even use BatchMarker to add thin lines that cross the image, providing yet another safeguard against illegal use!

Thank you for sharing and, I am sorry to hear about your pain. I believe I have mentioned before, but I’ll repeat: As soon as I am elected Supreme Omnipotent Benevolent Dictator Of All Things, I will banish chronic pain. So remember folks; vote early, and vote often.
