Sunday Beauty 102

I didn’t have to go looking for an interesting image to post today. Today’s SB kinda just .. fell into my lap.

How that happened was, some guy “liked” yesterday’s article. And I happened to notice that his was an intriguingly-named web address (“hikingphoto.com”)
So (after checking the W.O.T. and SiteAdvisor colors) I clicked, and took a look-see.

I am glad I did. There are some very nice, and very interesting images posted there. But because I noted that he is offering these images for sale, I am not going to violate his ‘copyright’, or whatnot, and copy>paste one of his photos — but I will give you a small “sample” (sometimes known as a “tease”) and invite you to click and see his gallery of spectacular images.

Click me to see more!

Though the website’s title is “Canadian Hiking Photography”, there is more to see there than just some nature pictures. And he writes several “how I took that shot” articles that I think all you amateur shutterbugs will want to see. It won’t take much of your time (it’s a small website) so go ahead, click here. Take a peek for yourself.

It Can Cause Accidents…

Well, folks, all I can say is, “phew!

I am now finished with what has proved to be my busiest, and most challenging week as a tech.

I can now kick back, and rest, with that fine sense of accomplishment, and pride in a job well done.

Right before I got on the road to head back to T4E Headquarters, I noticed a guy..

Reason I noticed him was because he had his short-sleeve dress shirt buttoned at the neck.

On a day where – it’s so warm – ladies tend to wear clothes that can stop traffic/cause accidents. Buttoned at the neck?

I guess this is a “fashion”.

But fact is, unless you’re going to be wearing a necktie, you do not button the top (throat) button. Unless you’re a dork and proud of it.. as my guy seemed to be. (I have, also, seen guys, that’s the only button they button.. and the shirt flies open in a breeze.. This also is a “style”, I guess..)

So.. rest assured Dear Reader, I have my collar loosed, and am gonna “chill out”. And start things out w/a little Joe Cocker. Yes. I am.

Feelin Alright

Hope you all are having a super-terrific weekend!

I Googled “dork”, and this came up…

(And, no. I do not know doodly about “style”. I’m just trying to help out.)

TGIF + Fix IE

This article is a rather important read.. for those who still believe we should have some modicum of personal privacy..

Why Do Not Track is worse than a miserable failure

As a consumer, you’d think that the meaning of “Do Not Track” is pretty clear. But the big data-collecting companies that are behind this standard seem intent on making sure it does nothing at all.” Read more..

I came across this article last night in some general Internet wandering. You can easily dismiss the concept. Everyone loves Apple! Apple stock just hit an all time high of over $700. Hit The The Nail On The The Head

(aka “More From The I.R.S.”)

Maybe dyslexics should not write their own spam…

tax tax bank bank???

.. And, mom? Even if $6,795 a month would really, really, really help out? The last thing you want to do is respond to unsolicited email such as these. They’re scams, don’t you know?

Breaking news:The Samsung S IV will be here in February.

And I just saw a full-page ad for the brand-spanking new S III in yesterday’s S.F. Chronicle. (I liked it, actually. It compared, feature-to-feature, it and the new iPhone 5, and made my point about the Apple “reality distortion field” for me quite nicely.)

I guess Apple better start hyping the iPhone 6… (whether they actually have one in the works or not.)

(A Slightly Different) Sunday Beauty #101

Folks, every Sunday – for two years now – I have been posting a “pretty”, or “interesting” image for your enjoyment. Friend and fellow tech blogger, Rick Robinette, has been doing basically the same thing on his blog; except his images are specifically sized/designed to be used as a Desktop background (aka “wallpaper”).

He calls his Sunday feature “Wallpaper of the Week”. And he’s up to #87  today… Take a look.

Wallpaper of the Week (#87)

Click on image to get this wallpaper. (Or browse for other great wallpapers.)

“Lazy Lions”

He really has selected some marvelous images. Not only that, but I trust his wallpapers sources to be safe, and free of spyware and viruses. Not only that, but Rick’s website, What’s On My PC.., is what I have long described as “an undiscovered gem on the Internet“, and if you enjoy technology, like learning about the best of the new Internet websites and services, what’s new in mobile, (and Freebies. Rick loves free stuff.) be sure to click, visit, and bookmark.

Loyal readers already know, he is one of my last remaining “daily reads”. (I’ve grown disinterested with the rest.)

You’ll be glad you did! (So.. click! Take a look-see.)

Let’s be safe out there, and have a Ggrreeaatt! Sunday, every one!

PS: I personally liked last week’s, and the one before, better than “Lazy Lions”.. be sure to browse his older selections when you get there!

Smells Like Nirvana (aka “Friday Fun”)

Smells Like Nirvana (aka “Friday Fun”)

Since it is the end of the workweek, and I just finished spending my whole morning as a frustrated network engineer, (at Help Desk wages..) I think I can get away with simply posting a “fun” video for today’s article… and taking the rest of the day off.

And, please people, have yourselves a restful, wonderful weekend; and let’s be safe out there.

For the five, or six, of you out there who somehow managed to NOT SEE the original video.. Or to see why I give Weird Al such high “props” for his spoof..
