Tech – for Everyone

Tech Tips and Tricks & Advice – written in plain English.

Easing into it slowly

Though New Year’s Day is a (bank) Holiday, and many folks are too hungover to know which way is up, I think we have to face the fact that with the number change comes the end of our time off and vacations, and going back to the ‘old grind’.

And I think it’s best to ease into that slowly… Especially this year, as we have to factor in that Apocalypse we just miraculously survived.

Apocalypse surviving is not easy, you know. (Wonder if they’re gonna turn it into a reality show…. Hmmm.. think they already have.)

Okay. Let’s do a little “fess up” time: how many Mayan Apocalypse jokes did you hear?

How many did you tell?

In the spirit of “easing in slowly”, my big challenge today is going to be remembering to write “13” and not “12”.

That’s because I didn’t really make any “resolutions” this year. (I don’t have to. I’m already perfect. Wink ) In fact, I only have one: remember and live the (original) Golden Rule.

I’d like to hammer that concept into a few people’s heads.

Oops.

So. Here we go. 201213 is here. Like it or not. Fasten your seatbelts and ease into it slowly. And, don’t lament the passing of the holidays. They’ll be here again before you know it.

Today’s quote:It’s deja vu all over again” ~ Yogi Berra

  1. With reflection on my Holidays…on this New Years Day…I’m remembering/sharing this proverb:

To many people… Holidays are Voyages of Discovery and Rituals of Reassurances.

    Happy Voyage and Happy 2013.

  3. So begins a new year. It’s not really a new years resolution, but I am going to be a happy person this year. It’s a selfish goal. But happiness is a collaborative infectious action that affects other folks. The “Pursuit of Happiness” is a guaranteed right in America. I for one am going to enjoy that gift every waking moment. Come “heck” or high water.

A very Happy New Year to you Paul…

As a certified grouchy old curmudgeon, I don’t know if I can condone such an idea….

But I have been told (more than once) that happy people are nicer to be around.

Thank you for the good wishes and fersher, right back atcha. Also – good luck. I hope you find it every day.
