Super Bowl Sunday

I want to take a moment and wish my team good luck in the big game — Go, Niners!

For us Niners fans, well, we haven’t been here since Steve Young (1995) was our QB.. and we’ve had some darn lean years in the meanwhile. But this has been quite a year for Bay Area sports: Stanford won the Rose Bowl, the Niners are in gonna win the Superbowl, and YES! the Giants won the World Series. (Our basketball team’s not doing too badly, either.)

I hope everyone has a safe, and VERY (yes, shouting) enjoyable Super Bowl Sunday!

Post-game Update: Congratulations to the Baltimore Ravens and their fans.

It is not easy, being a Niners fan. But there is no doubt in my mind that this group of athletes are champions. Congratulations on winning your division, and playing right to the final second on the clock. Thank you.

  2. Sorry Paul… we got robbed on the goal line holding no-call, but we gave it a hell of a ride.

    • Rob,
Yeah.. I was sorely tempted to be angry with the (non)call. But, after I remembered to breathe, (and watching the slo-mo replay) I had to conclude that that was one of the best-officiated games (IMHO) in recent history and that a Niners fan could concluded he was interfered with while a Ravens fan could see him push the defender to the ground.

And I’m not going to be a 20/20 Hindsight armchair quarterback and second guess any coaching decisions.

I think the players can hold their heads high, and I very much look forward to seeing what Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers can accomplish this coming year.

  3. Stings a bit, but it was one seriously exciting game during the 2nd half. SF began to display the same hunger I saw against Atlanta, and they kept me at the edge of my seat right to the bitter end. It was a good game. And yeah, congrats to the Ravens. You earned it guys.

    • delenn13,
This one is one I’ll take advantage of, and which will get special mention (if I get an article posted today). Thanks for sharing.

(And I really think you need to get that glitch fixed in your TV…)
