And second: I just heard that one of my favorite “media personalities”, James Garner, passed away (I no longer turn on my TV, or read newspapers, so I’m late to that awareness).

You know, I liked him, and believed his performance, in every single thing I saw him in. It’s a real shame Netflix doesn’t have Maverick.. or I’d be starting a tribute ‘movie marathon’ now.. (I loved him in one of my fave war movies, The Great Escape, and also one of my fave Westerns, Support Your Local Sheriff! )

I’m watching Move Over, DARLING right now. One of his I’d somehow missed seeing before. (Yah, I remember now why I missed it. Wasn’t ever a Doris Day fan, and plus, it was a remake of a Cary Grant movie.)

Nostalgia

Have I ever mentioned that summer is my favorite season?

One reason is (I think only naturally) happy childhood memories. I recall, as a child, experiencing a certain joy when I heard some far away music, coming closer … as it heralded the arrival of a certain truck…

Today’s fun poll (cont.): I finally got around to watching Seasons 7 and 8 of House (the final two seasons) on Netflix, and so for me, I must now say ‘goodbye’ to friends. (um.. I mean, it really feels that way..)
… I was SHOCKED to learn that House MD ranked only #36 on the imdb’s “Highest Rated TV Series” (especially considering some of the titles that scored higher..) as I am hard put to think of series I was more sorry to see go (Like M*A*S*H, Cheers, , and Seinfeld). (I felt that way about Burn Notice as well, now that I think on it.)

I’m curious.. I wonder if those who answered the poll “no” – and that was exactly half the respondents – were simply saying they didn’t like the show (or House himself), as, at one point (2010?) House was the most watched show in the world; Hugh Laurie the highest paid actor; and the show won several awards… (all symptoms of a Top Show..)

Quick reminder: Be well. Spread some love today, okay? (Get creative.)

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer (and keeping cool)(as well as ‘kewel’).

Fun fact: you may have seen the photos of a car that had it’s interior destroyed when a GPS unit’s battery ‘exploded’ (from exposure to the sun).
