Trouble is.. in a society set up to turn us all into docile clerks and worker bees, how many can ‘be extraordinary’? And, if all 9 Billion were to be ‘extraordinary’, say by some miracle, wouldn’t that – by default – become the new ‘ordinary’?

Sigh.

  1. QUOTE:
“Trouble is.. in a society set up to turn us all into docile clerks and worker bees, how many can ‘be extraordinary’? And, if all 9 Billion were to be ‘extraordinary’, say by some miracle, wouldn’t that – by default – become the new ‘ordinary’?”
    COMMENT:
—They don’t want “extraordinary”—not even one or a few—that represents a threat to the goal [“success” of ???—whatever that may be]. Meanwhile all the ills [and there are a lot—ones going on and not even realized yet—some more evil than can be imagined], of society continue to grow and “prosper” in all the evil and wickedness they possess. Such is the state of an “enlightened” society, with all its “mobile devices”, “youtube’s”, and “games & chats”……….and we will get there, “docile” & “worker”, but it will be “too late” to correct the “wrongs” ….. ….I think Professor Frank Fenner may be correct —-Sam

  2. Not to get “religious”, and from one who has not been to church for 50yrs, but believes deeply—-I’l go neck and neck with your quote:
“There is only one issue: man’s lack of experience in feeling his Divine self and his innate connection with the Divine. All other issues stem from this.” ~~~Lindsay Wagner —Sam

    • Sam,
      Some interesting comments.

But I really was simply saying we need to really really REALLY be alarmed by the machines (AI, “machine learning’, Super computers and Big Data, SkyNet, robotics, ‘self-driving’, Facial recognition, Surveillance society, .. and what happens when ppl are happier in fantasy “Virtual Reality” simulations.. Connecting refrigerators to the Internet is about as short-sightedly STUPID as you can get) and not blindly embracing them and becoming addicted to them.
Them putting us out of work is the smallest problem I see.
