And ya’ know.. I need a dose of Pearl Jam.
Here’s a thot: I used to read three newspapers a day, and instead of music I listened to ‘talk radio’ (In a past life, I was a Journalism Major). One of the best decisions I ever made for my ‘mental health’ was to ignore the Infotainment (aka “news”) and fearmongering/propaganda, cancel my subscriptions, and turn off the TV. I highly recommend it to all my friends. (And you’ll save over a thousand a year, too..)
This guy explains the arguement fairly well (IMHO): How To Stop Watching TV – Why You Must Eliminate TV Right Now!
Yup. That’s right. With the exception of last year’s Super Bowl, I haven’t turned on my TV in almost three years. (If I do watch something, I do so on Netflix. (No ads).)

Dear Me
Don’t be a creep.
Folks, don’t ask me how I happened to stumbled across this video.. But I decided to take a minute and share it with you because I largely agree with what this young person (well, young from my perspective) is saying. And I think it might be good ‘food for thought’ to interrupt our busy busy busy day.

Dear Congressperson,
Here’s a win-win idea for you. Be the hero who writes the Bill that ends “Daylight Savings Time”. This is a measure that both parties can get behind (“nonpartisan”) and would make constituencies so happy, they might stop badmouthing you for up to a week (so time it to pass in the weeks prior to election day).
I have never, not once, ever, in my many decades of talking with people, heard anyone say they like DST.. or even ‘support’ it: I’ve only heard complaint.
So make yourself useful for a change, and do something popular. Win win.

Um.. er.. I guess that wasn’t so “fun”, so here’s another:
Today’s quote: “The Paradoxical Commandments
People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.” ~ Kent M. Keith
