Sunday Beauty #s 53 and 54
Today’s first image is a bit different.. it’s a graphic.
I don’t know if you know this, but California grows lots of oranges (farming is big here). That graphic is a stick-on label for orange crates. A friend from long ago saw that and thought of me, and thought I might like it.. though I really don’t suppose to begin to guess why.
I do think it’s interesting, and .. different. And I thought it gave me a good excuse to mention a factoid about my home state that not everyone might know. (A little research told me that Brazil is the worlds largest producer of oranges.) Most people don’t understand there is really not one, but three “california’s”. And the one everyone thinks of (and the media advertises) is the state of Southern California (aka SoCal) — palm trees, beaches (sun, sand, bikinis), Hollywood, and Disneyland.
I live in the state of NorCal — cold, fog, redwood trees. (Apologies for using word “cold” to my Canadian readers ..)

(Since the photog named it “on a foggy morning”, I can deduce they do not live here. This is everyday..)
The oranges grow in the 3rd “california” –> aka “central”
.. another interesting factoid – Kallyfornyah has both the highest, and lowest points in the contiguous United States.. and they are, I believe, within sight of each other. Death Valley, in the southeast, is 282 ft below sea level, the lowest point in the nation. Just 85 miles away, Mt. Whitney (14,491 ft) is the highest point in the contiguous 48 states.

Have a great Sunday everybody!
