Are these people nuts?
Folks, the tech industry is talking about upcoming “improvements” to Windows 10. Which of course is an indicator of the evolution of our devices.. and what the big brains at the billion dollar companies think we want..
* Windows 10: Ten missing and highly anticipated features due in 2017
“A look at the most significant changes due to hit Microsoft’s evolving OS in the coming year.” Read more..
Okay.. I don’t want ANY of that. Do you? (Are you ‘eagerly anticipating’?) Would you even call these ‘improvements’?
The only one I think worthy of mention is for a browser I’ll never use.
I’m going to replace my desktop with a phone..? I guess marijuana is legal in the State of Washington? Cuz they gotta be high.
… It’s like they spend so much time in their labs, they have a complete disconnect with human psychology.. The numbers telling them that people are desperately clinging to Windows XP and Office 2003 must utterly baffle them.

Windows Owners Be Aware of this Latest Threat!
An ALERT! for you folks who own Microsoft Windows PC’s. And you should know by now, “ransomware” is that (type of) hacker virus that makes you pay to get your files back. Please pass this item on to your friends and loved ones.
* New ‘Fantom’ Ransomware Poses As Windows Update
“Fantom malware comes disguised as a legitimate Microsoft Windows update to trick consumers and business users into downloading it.” Read more..
And.. to counteract all the bad news in the tech world, how about a dose of relief? (And yes folks, there’s enough of it that I am becoming thoroughly ‘anti-technology’ :( .)

Yes. I’ve posted that one before. But, be honest, it’s easy to let this slip one’s mind.
We can’t let it.

Just now, Hotmail (oops, I mean Outlook) changed!!
Microsoft just now did one of those things I just simple H-A-T-E! They “modernized” the user interface (no doubt to make it more compatible with ‘mobile devices’) and changed the look of my Inbox.
Thanks a lot Microsoft! Don’t you know we users detest this crap?
Didn’t you learn from the kickback you received from Office’s “Ribbon”? Or Windows 8?
Crap man. At least offer a setting that says, “No thanks. Leave my Inbox the *&^% alone.”
And now to send an email, I have to learn where you moved the buttons and thingies.. Just how I wanted to spend my time! (Not good to change the “insert inline image” to a seperate command button..)
NO. I am not going to start using One Drive just because you always default point to it. Or put shortcuts – for me – to it.
July 29th, and Windows Ten
Folks, many of you (well, any Windows user, really) will ‘need to know’ the following…
* What happens to those free Windows 10 upgrades after July 29, 2016?
“We’re nearing the end of Microsoft’s unprecedented free upgrade offer for Windows 10. The offer officially expires July 29, 2016, on the one-year anniversary of the operating system’s initial release. But what happens then?” [Updated] Read more..
Once you’ve understood that, you may next want to refer back to the article I posted the other day: How to lock in your free Windows 10 upgrade and keep using your old Windows version

Microsoft License Scam?
Folks, a reader wrote and asked me about a phone call they received. The (female) caller claimed to be from Microsoft, and warned the reader that their “Windows license had expired”…
This is a scam. Don’t fall for it. Hang up. And, please, warn your friends and family. As this ‘thread’ says, Microsoft would not call you unsolicited. Nor would they know if any errors existed on your computer.
The article has good information on scams and what you can do. Again, click here to read more.
And thank you Dear Reader for bringing this to my attention.

Windows X Review
Many of you will be aware today is ‘Windows 10 Day’ (meaning, you can get it today). And many of you are wondering what I think of it. (I’ve already said, “wait for the Service Pack”.) No I won’t be downloading it — I don’t want any of it’s new “features” (they’re kinda creepy, in a Big Brother kind of way) and I use what it will remove (i.e., Media Center), so, I refer you instead to this article for a detailed review of Microsoft’s latest operating system.

Today’s quote: “The human race is a herd. Here we are, unique, eternal aspects of consciousness with an infinity of potential, and we have allowed ourselves to become an unthinking, unquestioning blob of conformity and uniformity. A herd. Once we concede to the herd mentality, we can be controlled and directed by a tiny few. And we are.” ~ David Icke
