Uh.. guys? Here’s how you “delight customers” (and it ain’t memorize my shopping patterns/preferences):

  • Answer the phone. (With an English-speaking human, NOT a damn “phone tree”.)
  • Have enough staff (so that I don’t have to stand in line waiting for service, or hunt for a clerk to tell me which aisle my item is on.) In fact, have more staff than you think you need. Downsizing and offshoring are failures (as is most short-term thinking).
  • Have staff that knows The Customer Is Always Right.
  • Rinse. Lather. Repeat.
