Sunday Beauty #sumptin or other
I really, really, really would like to get away to my very own (uninhabited) tropical island. Thus my selection for this week’s pretty picture…
Have a pleasant Sunday, everyone.

delenn13,
That picture makes me “homesick” too. (Though I have never been there.)
But who knows? Maybe one day the Internet will make me a billionaire too, and I can buy myself an uninhabited tropical escape from the rat race…
(Sorry if I made you sad… I didn’t mean to!)

I welcomed it’s company for 2 days. It was nice..even though it rained for 48 hrs; then 72… now, it’s Monday. It can stop any time.
You know what they say about company and fish….

delenn13,
Recently enough to be well-remembered, it rained from Thanksgiving (Nov.) to D-day (June 6th).
So, yes.
I “get it”.

That’s awful but I will take 6 months of rain over 6 months of snow any day though. Even a summer rain could be nasty if it turned to snow. Besides rain will make its way to the great lakes here…The snow just piles up until you have no place to put it. Couple of years ago it snowed everyday for 3 months(we get a lot of lake effect snow)…it just piled and piled up..
How many inches of snow would one inch of rain produce
“The ratio of snow to water can vary a great deal depending on the vertical profiles of temperature and moisture, and how they change during a storm. Typically 1 inch of rain is equal to 1 foot of snow, a 12-1 ratio. Depending on the temperature and moisture profiles of the snow growth region of the atmosphere and the origin area of the storm system, that ratio can go higher, say 20-1, which would be 20 inches, or lower, say 6-1 or so.”

delenn13,
It has been a while, but I used to mention to folks that as soon as they get me elected Supreme Omnipotent Benevolent Dictator Of All Things, one of my first acts will be to abolish all snow.
(Except for a few, select, high mountain-top areas.)

Sandy Beaches and Salt Water…remains part of One’s Being… never to forget those joys. Only this past week I’ve been giving a lot of thought to adding that to my life…(as though you are psychic Paul, “ha”)
Thanks for the treat.

Gaia,
I suspected I was not the only person day-dreaming of sunny, tranquil beaches and the sound of the surf …
